Phelps is king

Phelps! The name has already sent shock waves all around the world in 2004 where he won 6 golds. With huge expectations all around, he didn't fail to let down anyone's hopes. He has even went on to take as much as 8 golds in Beijing. This is the highest number for anyone in any event in the Olympics. Many attribute Phelps's enormous success to his disproportioned body. He has an unusually long torso with long arms which help him to push behind a great volume of water. Phelps has also amassed the highest number of medals in the Olympics. The good news is that there is lot more to come in the following years.

Argentina retain Olympic gold

Argentina have made sure that the Olympic gold is theirs for atleast till 2012 in what is said to be a somewhat one sided contest. Argentina beat Nigeria by 1-0 and had the perfect revenge for their 1996 final with Di Maria scoring from a Messi assist. Argentina has always looked fresh with the likes of Lionel Messi and Sergio Aguero in the world's biggest sporting arena. Brazil was looking a bit threatening with Ronaldinho leading the side only for them to get destroyed in the semi-finals by the champions from South America. The event ended Brazil's hopes for claiming its first ever Olympic gold. This has been the only title that has tormented the 5 time world champions.

For all F1 fans

F1 has always been one of the most entertaining and challenging sport ever. It is fast(obviously) and furious with absolutely no room for error.Hence the skill required is phenomenal. Added to this, the circuits are tricky with 3 street races this year. Monaco has traditionally been the best race to watch strictly because of the number of accidents and courageous driving. The technique of the driver has to be at its best in street races. However there is very little room for overtaking(if any) and the person starting from pole has the best chance to win the race. Though 1 street race per calender year is enough(in my opinion) the FIA have decided to have 3 this year hoping it will be as exciting as Monaco. However Valencia was a pretty dull race with no room for overtaking.Well after watching the race at Valencia I hope that Singapore will offer more in terms of entertainment(it being a night race). But looking at it objectively i can safely say that it promises to be as boring as
Golf(with no disrespect meant). So for all you F1 fans out there I have just one piece of advice: Don't Get Your Hopes Up.

Nadal conquers Federer!

Nadal has atlast conquered the mighty Federer in the Wimbledon 2008. The four time French Open champion has always been closing in on Federer beating him with ease in the French Open finals. The brawny Spaniard pulled off an epic victory in the rain-interrupted Wimbledon Centre court finals. Federer was also looking good but he failed to capitalize at crucial times but Nadal left him clueless with shots from virtually all parts of the court. With this win, Nadal has ended Federer's dream run of a sixth consecutive Wimbledon crown. Despite the result, the match is considered by former players and tennis fans as the biggest match of the century.
